Boroko Swimming Club Makes a Splash at Theodist National Championships

The competition saw a total of 87 athletes compete, all hailing from the Boroko Amateur Swimming Club, in 47 events that ranged from 25m to 1500m.

The competition was held over two days, with Sessions 1 and 2 on Saturday, the 29th of April, at 8:30 am and 4:00 pm, respectively. Session 3 took place on Sunday the 30th of April 2023, at 8:30 am.

The stakes were high as this event determined which athletes would be selected for the 2023 World Championships in Fukuoka, Japan, the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games in Trinidad & Tobago, and the 2023 Pacific Games in the Solomon Islands.

The event was a great opportunity for Papua New Guinea's young athletes to shine on a national level, and they did not disappoint. The competition was a testament to the passion and commitment of the athletes, coaches, and organizers who worked hard to make it a success. Awards were given to swimmers who performed in the different age categories during the two-day event.

The Theodist PNG National Swimming Championships was not just a competition but also a celebration of Papua New Guinea's rich sporting culture. The event was a great opportunity for these talented swimmers to demonstrate their skills and talent on a national level, and we look forward to seeing them represent Papua New Guinea in future competitions.

Congratulations to all the participants and winners who made this event a success.
