Theodist Thunders Take Aim at the PCNC Grand Final

This Sunday, our team steps onto the court for their third consecutive Private Companies Netball Competition (PCNC) Division One grand final.

It’s been an incredible journey, and we’re rallying behind them as they chase the championship title.

The Thunders have battled their way through a tough season, proving once again that they belong among the best. Last Sunday’s semi-final was a nail-biter, with the team securing a narrow 11-10 victory over Pacific Industries. That win has set the stage for an exciting rematch in the grand final, where they’ll face the very team that denied them the title in 2023.

This isn’t unfamiliar territory for the Thunders. In 2023, they finished runners-up to Pacific Industries, and in 2024, they fell just short against Kina Bank. But with each setback, they’ve only grown stronger, hungrier, and more determined to lift the trophy.

Team Captain Gia Kopi is confident that the experiences of the past two seasons have shaped them into a stronger, more resilient team.

“We’ve learned from every tough moment. This team knows how to dig deep and stick together—and that’s what’s driving us now,” she shares.

For Team Manager Velea Wavuri, it’s the team’s bond that sets them apart.

"We've built something special over the last three seasons. It's more than just netball—it's family. Everyone plays their part, from our shooters to our defenders, and we back each other all the way."

That unity and determination will be crucial as they take on Pacific Industries once again. The Thunders know it won’t be an easy game, but they’re ready to give it everything they’ve got.

Theodist stands behind our Thunders 100%, and we’re calling on all our colleagues, families, and friends to come down and support the team. Let’s fill the stands with energy, excitement, and plenty of cheers as we watch them battle for the title.

The grand final kicks off at 12 PM this Sunday—make sure you’re there early to grab a good spot and witness the action unfold.

Let’s go, Thunders!
